The Newark Bears defeated the Long Island Ducks 3-2, as Newark swept the North Division Playoffs. The Ducks had the tying run on third in the ninth, but Jeremy Hill closed the door. Norm Hutchins led off with a walk and stole second. Hutchins moved to third on Jamie Pogue's groundout. After Reggie Taylor grounded out to first, Ray Navarrete grounded out to short.
